My summer vacation is coming to an end...

This is probably one of the hardest times of the summer for a teacher...realizing it's over and thinking about going back to school. However there is always something to look forward to. I can say that I'm excited about meeting my new bunch of first graders next week. Can't wait to see how God is going to use me to bless them.

Here's a little re-cap of the things we've done this summer in no particular order:

- We went to Brazil...it was my first time there but certainly not my last. I met my hubby's family (it seems half of the city of Bahia is related to him).
- Finished reading "Who You Are When No One is Looking" by Bill Hybels
- Visited the second out of the Seven Wonders of the World "Cristo Redentor" in Rio de Janeiro...our first was Chichen Itza in Mexico.
- Finished my first online course which also happens to be my first Masters class.
- My hubby got to lead worship and preach in Portuguese at his uncle's church. This man has a calling!
- Got to be a blessing to someone.
- Took a roadtrip to Atlanta with my hubby.
- Attended an awesome conference with guest speaker, Sharon Jaynes
- Spent time with the Cavalcanti's and their beautiful baby girl, Amanda
- Saw "The Dark Knight"
- Attended Marcia's sailor-themed baby shower...her 2nd baby boy is scheduled to arrive August 25th.
- Got pre-qualified for our first home
- Took a "Leap of Faith"...My hubby and I are moving to a new church in Doral
- Tasted Brazilian pineapple...there is nothing like that abacaxi
- We found out we are going to have another precious nephew/niece
- Hung out with our good friends, HAM
- Started blogging (officially)
- Celebrated my hubby's birthday in his hometown of Salvador, Bahia
- One of my best friends started our women's small group again
- Ran into my fourth and fifth grade Academic Excellence teacher, Ms. Epstein
- Went on a lunch date with Mercy
- Much to my surprise I found the perfect pair of eyeglasses with my hubby's help
